Happy Birthday to John Guerin, (born October 31, 1939) the legendary studio drummer who has played in just about every genre of music, having worked with Frank Sinatra, Thelonious Monk, Frank Zappa, Madonna, Elvis Presley, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Barbara Streisand, Art Garfunkel, Seals and Crofts, The Byrds, Bonnie Raitt, Patti LaBelle and Quincy Jones.

He has worked on countless film and TV scores. Here's one of his most famous, the Hawaii 5-0 theme:

Happy birthday to Stephen Morris (born 28 October 1957 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England) of Joy Division and New Order fame.

Happy birthday to studio legend Gary Chester (born October 27, 1924) whose work appears on thousands of tracks, including hundreds of hit records from the '50s, '60s and '70s. He logged over 15,000 studio sessions over three decades. He is on the short list of 20th Century Drummers' Hall of Fame.

Also, happy birthday to Manu Katché, (born October 27, 1958) the French drummer best known for his work with Peter Gabriel and Sting.

Happy birthday to the legendary John "Jabo" Starks (Born October 26, 1938). Starks played on many of James Brown's biggest hits, either as the sole drummer or in tandem with Clyde Stubblefield, including "The Payback", "Sex Machine", "Super Bad", and "Talking Loud and Saying Nothing". Along with Stubblefield, Starks ranks as one of the most sampled drummers on contemporary hip hop and R&B recordings.
