He is best know for his work with John Coltrane as well as Pharoah Sanders, Sonny Rollins, Albert Ayler, and William Parker.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Doug "Cosmo" Clifford (born April 24, 1945 in Palo Alto, California, U.S.) played drums in the American rock band, Creedence Clearwater Revival. After CCR broke up, Clifford and former CCR bassist Stu Cook (who was born a full day after Cosmo Clifford) joined Don Harrison in the Don Harrison Band and also issued a solo album. In 1995, Clifford and Cook formed the band Creedence Clearwater Revisited.
